First let me congratulate the club on your outstanding
response to our call for volunteers to support the Gainesville Cycling Festival’s
Santa Fe Century and Horse Farm Hundred. Four weeks before the event, we
have filled most (but not quite all) of our volunteer positions.
Volunteers, it is very important that you be able to fulfill
your commitments. If you know of anything coming up that may prevent you
from helping at the event, please contact me as soon as possible.
The following positions are still open:
We need one or two persons to place signs along the Horse
Farm Hundred course on the morning of the ride (Sunday, October 2). If
you are not intending to ride on Sunday, this process can be started between 7
and 7:30; if you want to ride, you probably
should start earlier.
Jim Wilson would like some company in the pace vehicle for
the Horse Farm Hundred. The navigator position is open. You would
help make sure the riders are not getting too close and that you are following
the course.
We could use one or two more persons to help with the clean
up at Club HQ after the ride on Sunday. Trucks need to be unloaded, ice
chests and coolers need cleaning, and stuff needs to be put away and organized.
With enough help, it’s not too big a job.
Call me at 378-7063 or email reply if you can help.
