We are anticipating a big time record turnout for the Horse
Farm Hundred this year. Our preregistration totals have already exceeded
last year’s, with the five heaviest mail days yet to come.
Because of this, we could use a few more people to beef up
some of our volunteer crews.
There are two openings to join John Parker’s crew at
the Flemington Community Park. Set
up starts at 6:30 am at the park on CR 329 just north of
CR 318 in Flemington. We’re usually done by about 3:30 pm. This
is the real hub of activity during the event and should be an exciting place to
be.
We could use a Snipper on the Registration crew at Morningside Nature Center between 7:15 and 8:30 on Sunday
morning. All you have to do for this one is stand around with a scissor
and help riders get the excess plastic strip trimmed from their wrist band.
If you’re already registered for the Horse Farm, you can do this and
still start with the big pack if you get your act together before starting
Snipping. And we’ll give you a t-shirt!
We can use more masseuses for both the Santa Fe Century and
Horse Farm Hundred. These persons provide massages for a reasonable
charge. They can choose a work period between noon and 5 pm. Let
me know if you know of anyone who might want to do this.
