Sunday January 8, Strays will ride out from Flemington
park for a 25 mile ride in the McIntosh area. It looks like the
'feels like' temp should be enough above 50 degrees at the proposed time to
allow for a comfortable ride.
Meet in Flemington Park at 11 am for an
11:15 departure.
Ride speed range 6 - 28 mph, varying with terrain.
Average speed in recent times has typically
been approaching 13 mph. This ride
is not flat, but we will not be dealing
with the worst (read most difficult) hills that could be chosen in the
area, maybe next time!
There will be convenience store / rest room opportunities at about
the 7-10 and 15-16 mile points on this ride.
No pace lines, no wheel sucking, no racing, just a fun
social ride.
Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides, mirrors
recommended, headphones forbidden.
Safety protocols are always observed on Strays
rides.
If you have not ridden with the Strays before, please read this.
After the ride the hungry will head for a restaurant, most likely this
will be Rockys Villa, unless the group has another preference.
Hope to see you on the ride, my apologies for the late notice, but at least
we have a late start.

To get to Flemington:
Travel south on I-75 to the Micanopy exit 374. Follow 234 (Angle Road)
west and south until it becomes 329 in Marion county. Continue on 329. The
Flemington park will be on the right shortly before reaching the intersection of
318. The distance from the exit off I-75 in Micanopy to the Flemington
park is approximately 7 miles.
Another way:
Follow I-75 to Irvine exit 388. Exit going west on 318. Follow 318
for 3.2 miles until the intersection of 329. Turn right on 329 going
north. Flemington park will be on your left in a quarter mile.
