Barb Bates at the 2000 Horse Farm Hundred
Sunday February 26 Strays will meet in the parking lot in front
of Ravine Gardens State Park for a 30 mile ride in
the Palatka area. Post ride, those interested can ride through the Ravine
Gardens (about a mile) and view the blooming flowers. Cost to enter the Gardens
is $1.
This is officially the Cracker Swamp Ride. We will
probably be accompanied on the ride by members of the North Florida Bike
Club from Jax. See the clip from their newsletter at the bottom of this
email.
Ride leader for this ride will be Barb Bates, long time
GCC member and a resident of Palatka.
Meet at the Ravine Gardens parking lot on Twigg St. for
a 10 am ride start.
Ride speed will vary, but average expected ride speed for
this ride is 12 mph. The route is predominantly flat.
There will be convenience store / rest room opportunities on the
ride.
No pace lines, no wheel sucking, no racing, just a fun social ride.
Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides, mirrors
recommended, headphones forbidden.
Safety protocols are always observed on Strays
rides.
If you have not ridden with the Strays before, please read this.
After the ride the hungry may go to Angel Diner, Southwell Restaurant or
consider other options.
Hope to see you on the ride.

In Palatka turn right (going South) on Moseley Ave. (311) for a bit
less than a half mile to Twigg St., turn left (going East) on Twigg St. and
proceed about a quarter mile to the Ravine Gardens parking lot.
Here is the clip from the North Florida Bike Club newsletter:

State Gardens in Palatka, 30 miles. Park in the parking lot in front of
the gardens on Twigg St. Take US 17 into Palatka. Turn right on
