Sunday August 13 Strays
will ride about 25-26 miles from the Hawthorne
end of the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail to Paynes Prairie overlook
2 and back.
Arrive at 8:15 am for an 8:30
departure.
Ride speed range 5 - 36 mph, varying with
terrain.
Average speed in recent times has typically
been approaching 14 mph,
There will be a convenience store or rest room opportunity
about every 10 miles.
No pace lines, no wheel sucking, no racing, just a fun social ride.
Helmets are REQUIRED on all Strays rides,
mirrors recommended, headphones
forbidden.
Safety protocols are always observed on Strays
rides

If you haven't been to the Hawthorne end of the GH
Trail:
From Gainesville, find your way to Hawthorne Road (SR 20) heading East out
of town.
Just before you get to 301, turn right on Johnson St. (the post
office is on the corner). Take Johnson several blocks through downtown to SE
71st Ave, turn right. The trailhead is a couple of blocks down on the
left.
