Dear Friends:

Looks like I forgot to be specific about where and when to meet - make it 9:00 AM at the entrance to O'Leno State Park.  Please let me know if you can be there!

Cheers,

George

Dear Friends:

Our neighbors in Columbia County have built a new paved trail leading
from O'Leno State Park to the South entrance of Ichetucknee Springs
State Park, creating a safe way to ride between two spots of remarkable
natural beauty. This trail has had a lengthy gestation period, but now
is complete and under the maintenance jurisdiction of the Public Works
department of the County.

On Saturday 23 September we will gather with Bill Whitley, Columbia
County Commissioner, to clean up the broken glass and trash on this new
trail. Because the County crew has been out mowing and power-sweeping,
the clean-up duties may be fairly light (we hope). I expect we will
mostly have a lot of the usual rubbish like we find along 234. We will
have time for some riding after the clean-up. Also, there is a good
thrift store in Fort White.

Chandler has been muttering about organizing a picnic lunch, which
sounds like fun. Better tell us if you are coming so Chandler will know
how much food and soft drinks to provide. Get back to me by email or
phone - 333.3184.

The Columbia County folks have spent a lot of time, effort, and money
building this trail for us, so it is important that we go and show our
support. They deserve it.

Cheers,

George
