GCCMail: 6 Gap

Hello all.  This is an invite for all interested A type riders who are
planning on riding the upcoming 6 Gap century.

Several of us who normally ride with (hang on to) the A riders are
planning on doing this ride.  Some have expressed an interest in at
least in starting together.  Chances are we will break up into several
smaller groups as the ride progresses and each hits his/her climbing
rhythm (or doesn't for that matter).  Some folks are interested in
setting PRs for the course - others are just looking to finish with legs
intact after putting forth a respectable effort.

Probable finishing times for such a group range from ~6hr (for those
that press on at rest stops, without waiting for the group) to 7-7.5 hrs
for those that linger at rest stops and regroup etc.

Any and all interested in breaking 6hrs or getting close to the 5hr mark
- will start up front and most likely ride a solo affair (& probably
hardly stop once).  Good luck and God bless.  I would love to try this -
but my beloved ability to draft on the flats of Florida does me little
good when the road tilts upward.

I propose we meet on the south side of the Lumpkin Co High School (the
left side as you stand outside looking at the main entrance) ~7:15 for
the posted 7:30 start.  This has historically been the less crowded
area, etc.

Email me back (to my address & off the list serv) if you are interested
so we know to keep an eye out for you before heading up to the start and
to let you know if any plans change [like if anyone voices a better idea
of where/when to meet].
