Less than two weeks from
the big event, we continue to have some critical needs for volunteers.
GCC Supervisor for Millhopper Road Rest Stop on Saturday
This
person should have a van or pickup. They will pick up tables, coolers and
supplies at Club HQ on Friday evening and take them out to the end of Millhopper
Road Saturday morning. They will be joined by volunteers
arranged by the Boys and Girls Club to help set up and hand out food and drink
to persons doing the Millhopper Ramble. A training session will be held
this upcoming Saturday (Oct 14) at 5 pm (dinner will be
served).
Staging Help
We
need a couple of people who can help arrange the food and supplies during the
week before the event so that truck loading can be done with as little hassle
as possible. You’ll be working in the garage with Diann Dimitri.
Rest Stop Workers on
Sunday at the Trail, Flemington, and Lunch
For
these jobs, you just show up at the appointed time and help prepare and give
out food and drink to riders on the Horse Farm Hundred and Tours. The
Trail is open 10 am to 5 pm, Flemington 7 am to 3 pm, and Lunch 8:30 am to 2 pm.
SAG Drivers for both
Saturday and Sunday
You’ll
be assigned a section of the course to patrol at a given time of the day.
Look for cyclists who need help. We pay $30 for gas. There is a
meeting to show you the ropes and hand out assignments on Sunday Oct 15 at 4 pm.
Dinner will be served.
Sign Placers for the Horse
Farm Hundred
Early
Sunday morning, head Marion County and place
signs along the Horse Farm Hundred course so that riders don’t miss
turns. Also a few signs to direct them to the parking area. We’ll
have a planning meeting on Monday Oct 16 at 6 pm.
Truck Loading/Unloading
Crews
These
jobs won’t interfere with you participating in the rides! Help load
the trucks on Saturday evening, and unload them and clean up on Sunday evening.
If you
can help, please reply to this email, or call Roger Pierce at 378-7063.
