Aloha from Kona! The Ironman is still on; the earthquake has not really impacted this event. The bay is a little rougher at the moment though, but hopefully it will get better by Sat. The heat is incredible out here and hydration is of utmost importance. I am biking today to check out the winds. Frederike says they are worse than hurricane winds on parts of the course. SHe almost got blown off her bike several times. I ran at the Energy lab at the RUN turnaround and it was as hot as Africa- no kidding. I got to hold the USA sign for our Athlete parade through town, so that was very exciting! We are having a great time and a great experience out here. The volunteers are wonderful. Met a prev. Gator girl as well. Free ART massage out here every morning. Made a 30 second video yesterday, which should be available for viewing today or tomorrow on Ironmanlive.com.
