Thanks for excellent rides last week!!
Perhaps the best part was Matt's crash on Wed night though. Well of
course, his crash was actually unfortunate. But the most amazing thing
was that, as he was going down, his basic biological instincts kicked
in and he managed to pretty much keep his $82,000 rocket ship of a bike
(you know, the model with a built in nitrous canister for the hills),
off the ground at 25mph!! Matt walked away pretty banged up, but his
bike rode away with only a scuff mark on his front brake shifter! So
if anyone is looking for advice on proper falling technique - Matt is
clearly the go to guy!
Ok Sunset and Sunrise rides this week - Huan posted the Wed Sunset
ride...I will be there.
SUNRISE RIDE - Sunday August 12th, meet at 6:50 am for a 7am
departure from the Chevron. Expect an average speed of 20mph (meaning
we cruise on flats at 20-22mph) for 38 miles, with the pace probably
increasing a bit after about 30 miles or so. We will group up
periodically on the ride, and especially after the hills going out on
241. We had great turnout this past weekend - hope to see you guys
again soon!
Jonathan
