* On Monday June 16th from 12 - 1 pm, the Obesity Action Coalition and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery will be hosting a briefing on the obesity epidemic - including its consequences and treatments. The event will take place in 2105 Rayburn House Office Building and a box lunch will be provided.

Then, on June 17th, the Campaign to End Obesity encourages you and yours to join in a historic and first of its kind event - the Walk from Obesity - Walk on the Capitol.

At 6:30 pm on June 17th, the Campaign to End Obesity will join as one of more than 15 partnering organizations in this national event hosted by the Obesity Action Coalition and ASMBS Foundation to send a strong message to the public and government that more action is needed to address obesity. The Walk on the Capitol will be held on the National Mall in Washington, DC, where thousands of individuals will gather. We encourage and invite you, your family members and friends, healthcare professionals, industry leaders and any individual concerned about obesity to take part in this historic event.
