I'm on the 4th episode and have to say that it definitely has a Traveller vibe to it.  It would be an interesting campaign idea along the Zho border.

Dark Matter or Killjoys?

Dark Matter

I've only watched the pilot of Killjoys so far, so I can't really judge it. Except to say that bounty hunting seems quite organized, almost as organized as I run it IMTU.

Dark Matter is IMO quite close to Traveller, so long as you overlook a few technical details such as ubiquitous high-end automation, no apparent requirement for jump fuel and constant access to FTL communication.

About the only thing I see that's truly different is the FTL communication.  The jump fuel situation could be handwaved by using alternate tech that relies on the powerplant and not some handwave percentage of volume.  There were a couple drives that required raw MW to work and not "jump fuel".  The high end automation actually dovetails with what I would see a Tech 10 or higher society possess.  Then again, Traveller tech levels really don't make sense either from a "what is possible" to a "how long does it take to get to that level" perspective, but those are arguments for another thread.
