Evening PDT all,

I stumbled over this entry in the Consolidated CT Errata document for Trillion Credit Squadron (319, Adventure 5, 1981):

"Pages 28-29, Billion Credit Squadron and Trillion Credit Squadron Tournaments (addition): The entry of fleets which rely on drop tanks to meet the required jump parameter have been prohibited."

I checked out the indicated pages in my copy of CT Adventure 5 in FFE 003 and did not find any mention of drop tanks in the parameters.
 

If I've got the additional rule correct drop tanks cannot be used to meet the parameters for jumps fixing the issue I think Matt Stevens raised earlier. (My apologies if I have the wrong name I'm on another computer since my is not playing well).
