For those who don't know it, a Traveller version might be a middle-class non noble citizen from Core sector inherits an old fiefdom out out in the Marches and decides to leave his metropolitan life for a very different culture out in the boonies. Cue him finding a stately home and large estates in need of some repair, unable to pay its way without modernising, and a bunch of colourful local characters helping or hindering anything the young 'laird' might try.
