Morning PDT Timothy,

Yes, the WiFi connection and background noise are part of my general label of technical difficulties. Another technical difficulty has to do with my ISP's constant upgrades to their capabilities which has led to temporary connection losses, which put in an appearance on 5/25 while I was online using their technical chat service. I lost connection when transferred from one tech to another and then while waiting to connect again the digital telephone modem reset itself. For the most part the ISP does provide good service, but when it does not it is at in my opinion at the wrong time.

Anyway back to The Traveller Adventure VIII which seems to be going very well and again thank you for the update.

Tom Rux

Evening PDT Ethan,

One has to have a web cam or other video device to connect to Skype which is a device I have not purchased. I got fed-up with them while I worked in IT and have not checked out any systems since 2009.

And to be fair, although I'd be prepared to try it at least once, I'm not convinced the pub WiFi would be up to the task.  Not to mention the background noise.

Besides I prefer being physically present especially when technical difficulties occur and I loose the connection.

Yes, the one time I tried it as a player it was an experience that left a lot to be desired but with some intense concentration was better than not playing at all. And the ref did a great job.

I think bigger screens (not an ipad) and better sound would have helped me and maybe knowing the other players would improve the immersion.
