Long ago, played in SOE's "Star Wars:Galaxies" MMORPG

My char was very pro-Imperial - "Yeah, the Empire's got problems, but
we can work within the system to fix them rather than becoming
terrorists"
He had a long argument with a Reb-symp in a cantina on this very
topic, explaining the reason we were suffering economic problems was
due to the rebel terrorists destroying a major source of raw materials
for this sector.

Aside, with some ObTrav:

Started playing and a party of us weak folks on Tatooine got swarmed
by desert lizards... until a group of PC storm troopers arrived, slew
them, harvested hide and meat and gave it to us, healed our wounded
and then said,"Grow strong, the Empire needs you!" before riding off
into the sunset.

We were all still un-aligned, and it was rather impressive.

A few days later, in Bestine, the Rebels raided, shooting anyone
aligned with the Empire down in the streets. Then they fell back, and
hit again 10 minutes later, sending a squad into the town hospital to
kill all the wounded there.

It was the killing of the wounded that was the last straw on deciding
on which faction to support.

Traveller - in YTU, does the Imperium use the Army/Marines in these
kinds of 'hearts and minds' ops?
