A lot of vehicles intended for "farm" use (like older pickup trucks)
have *multiple* tanks.

A friend of mine used to own a pickup that had *three* tanks and
could switch between them. The switching stuff was broken when she
got it, but it could have been fixed.

Places like the Outback, or stretches of several US states, you
either have that kind of setup or you carry the *big* metal cans of
spare gas.
