Nick, Denis et al.,

I am pleased to report that despite very strong winds gusting >60 km/h in
Haute Provence, Jean-François Soulier has coverage of the start of the event
using his 0.20-m dedicated robotic telescope.

According to preliminary data from JF, between 2020 11 19.764 and 19.796,
comet 29P brightened from 16.0R to 14.0R, that's some 2.0 magnitudes in <45
minutes.
The exact time of the start of outburst is probably close to 19.768
+/-0.002.

High winds interupted JF's observing run for a short time and his images are
taken in bad seeing but are nonetheless conclusive.

Richard
