Thanks for all your work on the software, Nick. The ion tail of C/2022 E3 had three clear streamers this evening - if streamer is the correct term. David

Subject: [BAA Comets] New release of comphot

Morning all,

I have put the latest version of comphot (1.4.6) on the downloads page here:

https://britastro.org/section_information_/comet-section-overview/comphot-comet-photometry-software

This fixes a number of bugs, in particular one which meant that comphot
did not work properly when using pixel scales larger than around 5
arcsec/pix. The program also now selects a more appropriate sky annulus
in these cases.

The download is a binary built for Ubuntu LTS 22. If you are a Windows
10 or 11 user this is one of the systems supported directly under
Microsoft's Windows Linux subsystem:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install

This can now be installed with a single command and so is very
straightforward to use.

Nick.
