The Invasive Species Program (http://wildlife.ca.gov/Conservation/Invasives) at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife is hiring an Environmental Scientist. This position is based in downtown Sacramento (but will be moving to West Sacramento next year).

Under the supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor), the incumbent will coordinate data entry and database management, assist with development of statewide guidance documents for the prevention and containment of invasive species infestations, prepare invasive species risk assessments, review and prepare permits for Program issuance, assist with review of quagga/zebra mussel prevention plans, coordinate development of invasive species identification and reporting app, conduct and prepare materials for public outreach and education, and assist with grant proposal development. This position works closely with regional and Program staff and the public.
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
