The
California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s
Biogeographic Data Branch is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist Specialist responsible for leading a program to advance the State’s vegetation
classification system and vegetation sampling and mapping standards and to further the Department's goal of completing a state-wide vegetation map. This position will develop best practices and appropriate products for using vegetation data for long-range
conservation and management of natural lands in the state This position will also provide training and technical expertise for governmental and other partners creating vegetation classifications and maps in the state. The position is with the Vegetation Classification
and Mapping Program in the Biogeographic Data Branch, located in downtown Sacramento. See
