ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST – NORTH COAST REDWOODS DISTRICT / NATURAL RESOURCES / PATRICK’S POINT STATE PARK

The reporting location for this position is Patrick’s Point State Park located in Trinidad, CA.  This position will work under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor).

The position will assist the District Resource Management Program by performing a variety of duties primarily related to vegetation management including: exotic species control, plant inventories, and habitat restoration throughout the North Coast Redwoods District.  Additional duties will include inventory and monitoring in support of core Natural Resources program areas, such as fish and wildlife, watershed, forestry, and fire management.  The position will be required to manage projects and assure that they are done on time and within budget.  The position may act as a lead for other resource management staff and will be required to work cooperatively with a wide variety of disciplines both within and outside of the Resource Management Program, other agencies, and/or contractors.  The position will concentrate on exotic species control throughout the District and the development of exotic plant restoration and management plans.
