Spring and summer job announcements for invasive plant work, restoration, and tree hazard surveillance positions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will open December 7th on USAJobs.gov closing at 11:59 pm (EST) on December 14th. The job announcement # will be SEKI 1565126. Positions will be a variety of seasonal work and include a range of locations from living in the backcountry for three months to frontcountry logistical support, working on invasive plant control, park-wide invasive plant surveys, implementing restoration projects, and assessing trees for health and physical defects as hazards. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks encompasses 865,964 acres ranging in elevation from 1,370 feet to 14,494 feet, 96.7% of which is designated and/or managed as wilderness, protecting significant portions of the headwaters of Kings, Kern and Kaweah watersheds, approximately one-third of all naturally growing giant sequoias, 275 caves, 82.5 miles of Wild and Scenic Rivers, and containing 826 miles of trails.
