Western Governors’ Association (WGA) is hosting a workshop in Lake Tahoe on their Biosecurity and Invasive Species Initiative: Prevention, Control, and Management of Established Species on September 17th and 18th. This is one of four regional workshops hosted by Gov. David Ige (Hawaii) on this initiative. The initiative focuses on the impacts that nuisance species, pests and pathogens have on ecosystems, forests, rangelands, watersheds and infrastructure in the West, and examine the role that biosecurity plays in address these risks. The workshops intend to gather leading regional experts to discuss challenges and opportunities in addressing cross-boundary invasive species issues. Each will be livestreamed by WGA to ensure the widest possible audience for the work of the initiative.
