Dear All,

This is an invitation to attend a Safety & Welfare Workshop on Tuesday 4 February, in meeting Room A in Macclesfield Library, starting at 18:30.

If you have already attended a Safety & Welfare Workshop, you need read no further.

Also the following people don't need to read any further as they are already on my list of attendees: Graham and Penny Heap, Alex Bedwell, Kath Speak and Pete Hayes.

However, if you've not previously attended a Safety & Welfare Workshop and you aspire to Organise or Plan an event, then this could be for you as the Insurance policy held by British Orienteering requires all Organisers, Planners and Controllers of events to have attended one of these Workshops.

You'll be sitting in groups of 2 or 3 and working through a series of examples which punctuate a standard Powerpoint presentation devised by British Orienteering which I will be delivering. The evening lasts up to 21:30, perhaps a little earlier if only a few people attend as the feedback elements will be shorter.

Meeting Room A is adjacent to a small kitchen, so we can have tea and coffee whenever we want - if I remember to bring the tea bags etc!

I know 18:30 isn't a very convenient time with regard to evening meals, so I'll bring along a few snacks.

If you want to bring your own food please do - I won't mind if you tuck in during the workshop.

I'll be giving out an unofficial handbook at the end of the evening to act as an aide memoire and you'll also receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Today I've registered the activity with the BO office and when it appears on the BO website the event will be open to members of other clubs to attend.

If you would like to attend, may I therefore request that you email me by 23:59 next Monday 13 January please, so I can include MDOC members before I welcome people from other clubs.

I'll send out further info (including about parking) nearer to the date of the Workshop.
