Coming soon! Lyme charity event - Saturday 10th April - put the date in your diary! Marie Roberts 15 Mar 2021 17:25 GMT

Dear MDOC members,

We are delighted to say that the club is to hold its first orienteering
event this year on Saturday 10th April 2021 at Lyme - a modified version
of our traditional New Year charity event, this year organised and
planned by Simon Freytag and Jim Trueman. Details are available now at:
https://www.mdoc.org.uk/documents/events/JoG_Flyer_2021.pdf

The event is only open to MDOC club members and will follow the draft
guidelines set out by our governing body, British Orienteering (BOF),
for a resumption of the sport.

As it is a charity event, there will be no entry fee (the club is
bearing the costs, including BOF levies) but instead, participants are
invited to make a donation to the organisers' chosen charity,
Alzheimer's Society, via a JustGiving page.

You may remember that an online registration system was set up last year
by Ian Watson to enable allocation of start times and minimise time at
registration on the day. Ian will be sending out reminders shortly to
those who used the system last year and registration for the event is
expected to open in the next day or two at
https://mdocentry.org.uk/code/entry.php

If you did not create an ID on the system last year, you need to do so
before registering for the event. Also, please renew your club
membership if you haven't already done so. Orienteering events are
currently only open to club members.

There are several other local events in the pipeline for the Spring,
including the M60 O-Ringen, an exciting new series of O' routes around
the circumference of Manchester using MapRun. More details to follow.

Looking forward to a return to O.

Marie
