As Cat McGuire notes, those cardboard masks are as effective as

the ones that everybody's wearing here (and probably safer than

the sort of cloth mask that Dr. Fauci tacitly recommends).

Effectiveness aside, this is yet another image of horrendous child

abuse (reminiscent of the masks forced on unruly slaves on US

plantations once upon a time).
