If you can’t find a home for it, it can be recycled with plastics or pulverized. You will probably need to contact a commercial recycler for this.

Subject: [SERIALST] Microfiche disposal

Hello-

We have some microfiche of which we are trying to dispose and have a couple of questions:

1) Is microfiche too hazardous to put in the landfill?

2) Can it be recycled and, if so, does anyone have any sources for this (other than sharing it with other libraries, which we will try to do first)?

Thanks for any advice or wisdom!
