According to the ATS 2011 rate sheet, our price will go up from $650 to $5,000 for a Tier 3 print+online subscription to AJRCCM, a 669% increase. Based on usage for Jan to Sept 2010, our cost per use is $1.71 so far…
I would like to determine whether or not ATS plans to pull current access to their journals from Proquest databases, which is another source of access for my Library. I don’t know that aggregators always receive prior notification from publishers when they decide to pull their journal access, but I plan to ask Proquest in any case.
This is an absolutely outrageous increase, to be sure..regardless of how well this journal is used.

Well, I won't debate whether they are greedy or not, but either way, they are setting themselves up for a lot of libraries to cancel their subscriptions. The first one has a rate increase of 700%. That's absolutely outrageous.

We just received our price notifications yesterday and were ..... amazed. We currently have print only subs which the publisher will no longer permit for institutions.
