Here is the response from one of our Microtext specialists:

We have two of the newer Scan Pro 2000 machines and they work really well.  The images are very clear especially with old newspapers and you can also display the image vertically allowing you to view more of the image at a time. We have had good success with printing a clear image too. They are pretty much "freshman proof" in that the reader is made from high quality metal, so I would presume that they will hold up well with frequent use.
