Hi, Julie:

This is not unusual although our system can handle it. However, I just won’t pay any post dated invoice because our procurement office and the state auditor and would question this practice especially for pre-payment that covers two fiscal years.

Subject: [SERIALST] Question about post dated invoices

Hello,

We have a recurring situation with a publisher that is problematic for us.  After we confirm renewal, they send an invoice dated the day that the subscription starts.  This is usually a month or two ahead of the date the invoice is received.  Our accounting software does not allow us to pay post dated invoices.  The publisher seems to think this is unusual and their other customers can pay invoices dated in the future.  Is anyone allowed to pay post dated invoices?  When I ask for a new invoice with a current date, I end up with a manually created one that inevitably leads to problems on our statements.

Thank you.

Julie
