If you don’t mind, I have a follow up question.  We set this up and it works well, but I wonder to what extent others are following up on their claims in EbscoNet.  For those of you who have this set up, do you track results in the Claim Checker and/or My Claims function of EbscoNet?  These features allow you to indicate whether you received the issue, see publisher replies, send a follow up message to the publisher, reclaim, etc.  While the electronic claiming works well in Millennium, I find that the follow up is a bit time consuming. I would be interested in how others are handling this (we find that we often do not receive what we claim).

We finally set this up a little over a year ago. It works very well. Much more efficient than our previous method of claiming in EBSCONET in that it eliminates the second step of updating our system and then the vendor’s system.

 

It was worth the time to set up.

Hello,
We have used the Millennium/EBSCO claiming feature for many years as well and have very few problems.  The key is setting it up accurately.  At the time EBSCO provided us with barcodes that enabled us to scan the appropriate order record.  I don't know if they still provide that service.  We opted to set up manually, one record at a time,  because the EBSCO batch automated process did not always select the correct bib record. Once it is set up, it is easy to maintain and works smoothly.

Community College in Spfld, MA.  We have used the claiming feature in millennium for at least 5 or 6 years.  It works beautifully.  There is still a fair amount of maintenance that you do on your end re: ebsco claiming cleanup, but that you can do as much or as little as you want to do.

 

Our local system (we are part of a huge consortium) did the ftp set up for us.  I don't remember that it was hard to do.  Ebsco is experienced with this so they should be able to give you substantial help.

 

We are moving from Innovative to Evergreen in a month or so and Evergreen serials does not have a claiming function yet and there are many of us upset with this!
