My response defending Ebsco was not in reference to anything present in your post, Ms. Harding.  Rather, it was a reply to Ms. Renner at Westminster, who implied  Ebsco was just another greedy corporation who cared naught for the customer.

Dear Serialst Super-sleuths,

Thanks for all the research you have done on my inquiry.  You all are fantastic.  Unfortunately, it looks like we are back where we began – MultiCultural Review has been suspended.  I guess I’ll hold on a while longer to see if it is resurrected.

As for the tangent thread my inquiry generated concerning subscription agents, my apologies to all.  I certainly did not intend any criticism and, after rereading my original post, cannot find a hint of anything like that.  I LOVE my Ebsco customer service rep and couldn’t do my job without Ebsco.  I am guilty of rattling the cage pretty hard to get a refund when a title is canceled, but I certainly do not hold Ebsco responsible for paying us out of their funds when the publisher does not respond.

Happy Springtime to you all,

Linda

Hello,

Hate to beat a dead horse, but in an attempt to provide more contact information, here goes:

Multicultural Review was published by The Goldman Group, headed by publisher Todd Goldman, per the MultiCultural Review website (ww.mcreview.com). According to a Linkedin profile (www.linkedin.com/pub/todd-goldman/12/160/6b5), Todd Goldman is listed as Publisher with Goldman Group June 1991 - April 2011. As of September 2011, Todd Goldman has been a radio show host (under the radio name Evan Gold) and publisher of Senior Voice America (http://seniorvoiceamerica.com). I contacted Mr. Goldman (Evan) through the contacts listed on the Senior Voice America website. His response:

Subject: RE: Publication query
To: William Maravetz <william.maravetz@uni.edu>

It (MultiCultural Review) is currently suspended.

Interestingly, Deb Goldman (Todd Goldman's wife) is listed as "Senior Voice Managing Editor" on the Senior Voice America website. Deb Goldman was the source of the following reply:

Serialst:

I just received an email reply from Deb Goldman about MultiCultural Review:

It is no longer being published.  I still get a few of the emails that slip through.

I am working for a different company.

Deb Goldman

I did contact Mr. Goldman again asking him to speculate on any possible resumption (months? years?) but have not received a reply to that query.

Thanks for all the replies.  You all have confirmed that the title has been suspended.  I guess we’ll wait a while longer to see if it ever resumes.

Hello, Linda and Serialst.

I only can relate my similar experience with this publication.

I was working on claims for our subscription to the MultiCultural Review again last month. On March 22, 2012, I received an email reply from Linda Benson, who is no longer affiliated with the publication. I got her contact name from the magazine’s website. She informed me that MultiCultural Review has suspended publication and that the publisher hopes to have more information soon. She gave me a further contact name: Deb Goldman, but the telephone number given is no longer in service (813-949-0006, x213).

The last issue we received was v.19:3 (Fall 2010), received in January 2011.

Your posting to Serialst today prompted me to continue my investigation with an email to Deb Goldman. Although, no one actually from the Goldman Group has replied to me for months.

I used to get replies from Sharon Altman at the Goldman Group. The last time she replied to me was in August 2011.

So, like you, I am waiting for something more definitive.

Hello,

Does anyone have any information about the status of the publication, Multicultural Review?  My subscription agent’s website shows it as “publication suspended” and has a note that they have been unable to contact the publisher.  The publication website does not give any hints as to the current status.  I’ve tried 2 phone numbers listed at the journal website - the 800 line has been disconnected and the other land line is now the number for some poor fellow with a motor cycle shop who gets multiple phone calls a day.   I marvel at this man’s cheerfulness!

The last issue we received was dated Autumn 2010.
