We are just getting started with this as well.  We are members of the Texas Digital Library which has installed their own version of the Open Journal Systems. OJS is open source software.  The Texas Digital Library provides training to our staff/faculty/students on how to use OJS, which is pretty simple, and they also provide the server that  hosts the journal.   At this time, the library’s role is to make this service known to our campus.  We are also looking for more seamless ways to integrate the journals into our DSpace IR.

Subject: [SERIALST] Open Access Journal Hosting Software

Colleagues,

Does your university run, manage, or host open access ejournals?  I am part of a group developing some guides for our university and we are interested in finding out what other universities are doing.

What software do you use to manage your open access ejournals?  What kind of support (technical and logistical) do you provide folks running or interested in starting ejournals?

Thanks!
