Northern Michigan University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, Academic Information Services (AIS).  AIS is comprised of five departments:  Lydia M. Olson Library; Computing Help Desk; Instructional Design & Technology; Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan University Archives; Beaumier Upper Peninsula Heritage Center.  Academic Information Services’ faculty and staff are deeply committed to providing the support and resources needed for our students, faculty, and staff to be successful in a technology-rich teaching and learning environment.

The Dean serves as AIS’ chief administrative officer reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.  AIS seeks an innovative, energetic individual to provide dynamic and visionary leadership for information and instructional services and resources.  Responsibilities include providing leadership for library, computing, and instructional resources and services; budget management; personnel supervision, development, and evaluation; assessment; strategic planning; leadership for the integration of technology and digital resources in both classroom and distance learning environments; and serving as an advocate for AIS to the University and external constituents.
