Hi Rita,

Because our subject specialists have control over their own title lists, I just supply them with the cost and use information and let them decide how to calculate cost-per-use. I think most of them look at the use of the bundled titles together to get the cost-per-use. But I also know that one of the subject specialist broke up some bundles this year to only keep the titles that were getting use. And saved from money that way, too.

Of course, some bundles can’t be broken so you have to watch for that.

Good luck.

Subject: [SERIALST] Calculating cost per use for bundled titles

Hi all,

I am interested in learning how other libraries are calculating cost per use for bundled titles.

For example : American Association for Cancer Research journals where one subscription price pays for 5 or 6 titles as opposed to separate title pricing.  Is the general practice to divide the cost of the bundle equally among all titles and calculate cost per use for each title? Or are there other methods being used?

Very interested in what's going on out there.

Thank you in advance,

Rita
