Incorporating holdings information in a library's discovery system is a challenge.  The Holdings Information Committee of the ALCTS Continuing Resources Section presents the experiences of two librarians’ efforts to ensure accuracy and improve discovery.

Regina Koury, Assistant University Librarian, Discovery & Resource Services Department at the Ida State University library, will speak on her experience  with EBSCO's EDS. This dynamic, full of real examples presentation will look at examples of managing content in EDS to improve discovery of resources: from linking issues to ClinicalKey records to dealing with “bound with” local catalog records. Regina will address obstacles faced and solutions found and her library's experience working with EBSCO. Following this session, participants will be able to apply “how to” techniques to troubleshoot content issues.

Chenwei Zhao, Electronic Resource Librarian at University of Connecticut Libraries, will present her experience in the migration to Alma and Primo. Upon implementation of ExLibris Alma/Primo, UConn Libraries’ new Integrated Library System and discovery layer, their e-serials holdings information has been migrated into Alma knowledge base. Since then, Chenwei Zhao has been focusing on the cleanup work, with the goal to refine holdings, consolidate collections, reduce duplications, simplify displays, and improve user experience. In this presentation, she will share her experience in solving these puzzles from an Electronic Resource Librarian’s perspective.

Please join us Saturday, June 25th, from 3-4 pm in the Orange County Convention Center, room W103A.
