Serials Review: Welcoming New Column Editors

http://explore.tandfonline.com/page/ah/usrv-call-for-editors/

Serials Review is seeking column editors for several columns, as listed below.  We are seeking excellent writers who have editing experience and can meet deadlines well. Column editors can write the columns themselves or recruit volunteers. Column editors work under the general direction of the Serials Review Associate Editor.

Specific qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following:

·         Prior editing/publishing experience

·         Demonstrated writing ability

·         Expertise with standard word processing programs

·         Ability to meet quarterly or semiannual deadlines

Open column editor positions include:

Across the Pond: This column will appear twice a year and explore serials and scholarly publishing issues in the United Kingdom and Europe.  We are seeking one editor to manage the column.

Electronic Resources Forum: This column appears four times a year and addresses a wide range of issues surrounding electronic resources.  This column currently has one co-editor, responsible for two issues a year, and we are seeking a second co-editor for the remaining two issues.  We are particularly interested in someone with a relationship with PCC or CONSER.

Serials Spoken Here includes reports on relevant conference sessions published for the benefit of a readership who may have been unable to attend. “Serials Spoken Here” is currently published tri-annually, with the editor assisting in the creation of a fourth issue each year devoted to the North Carolina Serials Conference.

The column editor is expected to seek reporters to cover major continuing resources-related conferences and sessions, coordinate the efforts of those reporters – especially when several reporters are covering one conference – to prevent any duplication in coverage, and to then bring their reports in-line with the standards of Serials Review and to submit them for publication on deadline. We are seeking one co-editor to work with the existing editor in managing this column.

To apply, submit a letter outlining specific qualifications and experience, a current resume, and writing samples.  Preference will be given to those applicants who address the specific qualifications listed above.

Submit all application materials by March 15, 2017 to Carol Ann Borchert at borchert@usf.edu.  For more information
