Duke University Libraries seeks qualified applicants for the position of Electronic Resources Management Librarian in the Continuing Resource Acquisitions Department, Technical Services Division. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the library’s electronic resources are accessible and discoverable in a complex, multi-consortia environment. It is an opportunity for a skilled librarian to work at a major ARL member library invested in making significant contributions to the academic research library community and to the scholarly communications environment.

 

The successful candidate will have at least two years of successful experience managing electronic resources access and discovery in an academic research library environment; demonstrate excellent analytical and organizational skills; be able to work well both independently and as a member of a team; and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change. We seek candidates who will thrive in an open, engaging atmosphere that focuses on large-scale movement of resources through workflows as well as continuous learning and sharing of knowledge amongst staff at all levels.

 

Major responsibilities include:

·         Oversight and leadership of electronic resource management with an emphasis on access and discovery, including supervision of 3 FTE staff.

·         Participation in all aspects of electronic resource acquisitions, including trials, ordering, licensing, assessment, and renewals/cancellations.

·         Participation in the DUL Licensing Team to review and negotiate license agreements for electronic resources and services.
