The North Dakota State University Libraries seeks candidates for the position of Resource Acquisition and Management Librarian. This position has overall responsibility for the strategies, processes and workflows of acquiring content
in all formats; processes all firm orders and subscriptions in all formats; participates in maintaining the quality and consistency of pertinent modules of the integrated library system and ensures user access to online continuing resources; participates in
scholarly activities, does committee work, and completes other assigned tasks. The Resource Acquisition and Management Librarian reports to the Head of Resource Acquisition, Management and Discovery.
Minimum qualifications:
- an ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science
- experience with the lifecycle of continuing resources
- experience with the acquisition of firm orders
- experience with integrated library systems (Alma, Aleph, Millennium, etc.)
- demonstrated ability to work successfully in a changing, dynamic, and production-oriented environment
- demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately
- excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- one (1) year relevant professional experience
- conceptual and practical knowledge of software and technologies used to provide access to electronic resources (OpenURL, EZproxy, administrative functions of proprietary databases)
- supervisory experience
