OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY -- SERIALS CATALOG LIBRARIAN

        Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Requires
an ALA-accredited MLS or foreign equivalent; excellent communication
skills; knowledge of current information technologies; experience working
independently and collaboratively; the ability to conduct research and
participate in scholarly activities; a commitment to student learning and
diversity; and the ability to advocate for and cope with change.  Minimum
salary: $32,000 - appt. beyond minimum commensurate with
education/experience as it relates to the position.

        Performs original and complex copy cataloging; resolves problems
and guides support staff; serves as leader in developing workflows,
procedures and online electronic services.

REQUIRED:

        Minimum one to two years recent professional serials cataloging
experience; familiarity with MARC, AACR2, LCRI, CONSER, LCSH, LCCS or DDC
and authority control; experience with a bibliographic utility and local
integrated system; strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

PREFERRED:

        CONSER training; previous experience cataloging government
documents serials as well as electronic resources; bibliographic knowledge
of at least one foreign language; experience with OCLC; experience with
Innovative Interfaces; experience with serials acquisitions; demonstrated
experience analyzing workflow and writing procedures and policies; and the
demonstrated ability to conduct research and participate in scholarly
activities.
