Important announcement for subscribers . .

COMMENTS ON MODERN PHYSICS ISSN: 1560-5892
Section A: Comments on Nuclear and Particle Physics
ISSN: 0010-2709
Section B: Comments on Condensed Matter Physics
ISSN: 0885-4483
Section C: Comments on Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion
ISSN: 0374-2806
Section D: Comments on Atomic and Molecular Physics
ISSN: 0010-2687
Section E: Comments on Astrophysics and Space Based Science
ISSN: 0146-2970

Beginning in the 1999 subscription year, the Comments series of journals
will publish a bi-monthly journal entitled Comments on Modern Physics
(ISSN: 1560-5892). Each individual section will continue to publish
separately twice per year. As research becomes more interactive between
the five fields of physics covered by Comments, the Editors of the series
decided that the compartmentalization of these fields in separate
periodicals did not always help
the reader and specialist to keep abreast of the most significant
developments in all modern physics, especially now that many archival
budgets can only allow for some, and not all, of the five titles.

This change will significantly reduce the price of current subscriptions to
these sections. The 1999 rate for the new journal will be slightly more than
the price of just one current section, yet the amount of material published
will be the same as is now for all sections. Originally published in a
pocket-size format, the page size of Comments on Modern Physics will be
increased to a 6" x 9" format to account for the greater amount of material
and more suitable archiving
purposes. Papers will focus more on the future direction of current
research rather than the review articles that have currently appeared. In
Spring 1999, Comments on Modern Physics will commence publishing
bi-monthly issues under a new numbering sequence. 1999 will publish Volume
I, Issues 1-6; Year 2000 will publish Volume II, Issues 1-6; etc.

Comments on Modern Physics will first publish the material that later
appears in all five sections, and, will be lower in cost (EUR700/US$850)
than the price of two sections.

If you have paid your last renewal subscription you need take no further
action to automatically receive your 1999 subscription to Comments on
Modern Physics. Your payment reflects an introductory discount of @ 15% on
the subscription price of Comments on Modern Physics.

Subject: Comments on modern physics 1560-5892

Does anybody in the list understand what is happening with Comment on
modern physics (Gordon and Breach) ?
First there were several series of Comments :
Comments on modern physics part B
Comments on plasma physics and controlled fusion
Comments on nuclear and particle physics
Comments on atomic and molecular physics
Comments on astrophysics and space based science.
ISSN online says they merged in 1999 to form one title, "Comments on modern
physics".
We never received the old series, except Comment on atomic and molecular
physics, received until 1996. We are currently receiving the new Comments
on modern physics since march 1999.
But, we have just received two issues of two old series, dated 1999 (ie.
after the merge) !
I am wondering if the old series are keeping on continuing while the new
title is being published ? If anybody has any clue about this case, I would
be very happy to hear it.
