...I personally believe the list should reflect what is available to my
user at my
institution, therefore it is my goal to include full text and otherwise
available holdings. Databases change, but so do hard copy holdings. The
databases just add a LOT more upkeep to the listing. However once the
list is compiled, updating should be a doable activity. Getting there is
going to be the bear. ...<<

I agree with John--that's what I did at our library. I extracted the
titles we have full text access to in ProQuest, Elsevier ScienceDirect,
FirstSearch, etc. to add to our catalog. In most cases, users click on
the 856 field to access the journal directly. Our librarians find this
useful too since we get many titles we don't have in print, and a
catalog
search prevents us from getting articles on ILL for which we can get
via our databases. The initial project was quite daunting, and
maintenance can be pretty time consuming, but the effort is worth it.
>>From our catalog, I can generate listings of our full text e-journals
by broad subjects. These replaced our previous manually-created HTML
lists, and are automatically updated each time I add a new e-journal
to the catalog.
