          for a workshop & presentation you wouldn't want to miss!

 Program:

     A 4-hour workshop on reading and interpreting authority records. The
workshop is intended to help Technical Services staff read and interpret
the MARC format codes and tags in authority records. It will focus on the
coded information that is crucial in understanding the status of the
authority records and their applications in cataloging.  The workshop will
not cover how to create an authority record.

     Following the workshop will be a 45 minute presentation and
discussion on approaches to authority control at California State
University, Fullterton and using Innovative.
