I forgot to add some points to consider before getting rid of the
microfilm.
Firstly, the stock quotes for the Wall Street Journal are not in
ProQuest.
We do use the film to look up historical stock quotes that we cannot
find on
the internet.  I do admit this is not as much of an issue for the newer
film
as it is for the older film.  Secondly, both newspapers use a number of
free-lancers and those articles may not appear in ProQuest because of
the
Tasini vs. New York Times case.  You also do not get any of the photos
and
illustrations in ProQuest that are on the microfilm.

We get both WSJ and NYT on film and we also get both titles through
ProQuest.  At this point, we have no plans to get rid of either
subscription.

We are canceling our Wall Street Journal microfilm subscription this
year
and are looking into purchasing it full text online through Proquest. We
are keeping the New York Times.
