Saving the mailing label -- Martha Coleman Stephen Clark 26 Mar 2002 21:51 UTC
-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Saving the mailing label Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 15:26:43 -0600 From: Martha Coleman <mcoleman@UAFORTSMITH.EDU> We keep a file of mailing labels. Our wonderful serials clerk (no make that goddess), Juanita, works very hard to be sure we have all the info on a current label. Now that electronic access to some paper subscriptions is available using info from the mailing label, this comes in very handy. It isn't anything fancy; sometimes the wrapper is filed or the label is cut of the plastic and taped to an 8.5 x 11 piece of scrap paper, or a photocopy is made. >-------- Original Message -------- >Subject: Re: British Journal of Criminology -- Dennis Goodyear >Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 13:16:30 -0500 >From: GERRE WESCOTT <WESCOTT@LYCOMING.EDU> > > >Hi Everyone > >Granted I only check in 800 journals now (it used to be over 1100) but >I'm the one who does everything from soup to nuts concerning periodicals >and that includes opening all the packages. > >There have been many times I've sorted through the waste basket when >I've discovered a problem with the journal in hand that wasn't >immediately apparent when I took off the wrapping. > >Might not work for everyone. > >Gerre > >Gerre Wescott >Periodicals Technician >Snowden Library >Lycoming College >700 College Place >Williamsport PA 17701-5192 >570-321-4089 - phone >570-321-4090 - fax > > >-------- Original Message -------- >Subject: Re: British Journal of Criminology -- Dylan McDonald >Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 09:19:05 -0700 >From: Dennis Goodyear <dgoodyea@DU.EDU> >Organization: University of Denver > > >On the subject of important information being prematurely tossed out >with >packaging material when opening mail, for that very reason at DU Penrose >Library we keep all envelopes, boxes, inserts, etc. with the issues >until >they are actually checked in.
