Hi. Just one more note to add about the 'free of charge' subscriptions.
Usually, when there is a questionnaire involved for a free subscription
it
doesn't necessarily mean that you will definitely receive it
complimentary.
This means they will see if you will be able to qualify for a free
subscription. Of course, you'll only know if you qualify when you
receive
your first issue. If you would like, I can email you a list of the free
subscriptions that we in our collection (about 30 free titles). Please
let
me know.

Todd--

Have you contacted your own university press? Also we receive quite a
number of "local" California publications, so you may want to check with
state agencies, organizations like Rotary, etc., depending on the
clientele
of your library. There are many free serials--but we'd need to know
what
areas of interest might be.

It might not be quite what you are looking for, but I received
notification
yesterday that Professional Surveyor is free. I have not actually seen
a
copy yet (as I just sent for it yesterday), but you might look at their
website http://www.profsurv.com The website shows that it is $12 but
the
Complimentary Subscription form that I received had a question: Do you
wish
to receive Professional Surveyor Magazine Free of Charge (and of course
I
answered yes). Also had a small questionare to fill out.

Dear Colleagues,

I manage a small residence hall library here at Indiana University. My
materials budget is almost non existent, so I am wondering if any of you
know of free magazines that I could take for my library. Are there
currently many (any?!) serials that are offered free to libraries?

I'm not sure which resources to use to look for possible free serials,
so those kinds of tips would be welcomed.

Any information you may provide would be enormously helpful!

Cheers,
Todd M. Grooten
