In the past there has been a serious problem with piracy in China, particularly of scholarly journals. However, China has recently joined the World Trade Organisation and is rapidly becoming compliant with world copyright standards. Publishers can therefore be much more optimistic about doing business in this potentially huge market. Our speakers will outline the current situation in China, and will describe various different approaches which publishers might wish to adopt.
