Position Project Manager--University of Houston Law Library Project Position Responsibilities - Develop and execute procedures for selecting, acquiring, cataloging, and processing approximately 175,000 volumes utilizing sub-contractors and in accordance with library specifications. - Coordinate work conducted by book vendors to ensure effective workflows from selection to shelving. - Serve as primary contact with vendor selected for digitization and database creation for approximately four million Texas Supreme Court records and briefs. - Supervise staff hired for project. - Establish and monitor quality control procedures to ensure library requirements are adhered to by subcontractors and project staff. - Through automated processing or manual intervention, ensure library OPAC (Innovative Interfaces, Inc.) accurately reflects library holdings. - Ensure purchasing regulations are adhered to as established by funding agencies and maintain documentation for audit trails. - Provide collection development and other consulting to library and sub-contractors. - Provide ongoing management and project reports to University of Houston Law Library and Amigos. - Act as primary Amigos contact with University of Houston Law Library and sub-contractors. Position Requirements - MLS from an ALA-accredited library school. - Seven years progressively responsible experience in an academic law library including collection development, acquisitions and technical processing, staff supervision; experience with Innovative Interfaces systems highly desirable. - Demonstrated oral and written communications skills, organizational and project management skills Pay and Benefits - Salary Range 60 - 75K - Assistance with relocation - Paid staff member medical, dental and life insurance - Retirement (TIAA-CREF) - Long-term care, and long-term disability insurance - Three weeks of vacation plus the week between Christmas and New Years - Seven additional holidays, three personal days and paid sick leave. - Pre-tax savings account available.
