If by link resolvers you mean things like LinkFinderPlus or SFX, an
excellent article comparing the major players (SFX from Ex Libris,
LinkFinderPlus from Endeavor, OpenURL Resolver from SIRSI, and 1Cate)
appeared in _Serials Review_ vol. 28, no. 4 (Winter 2002), entitled
"Context-Sensitive Linking:  It's a Small World After All" and authored
by Maria D. D. Collins and Christine L. Ferguson.

For those who have access to ScienceDirect, the online version of the
article may be accessed via the following URL (those who don't will be
"asked" to pay a way-too-hefty fee of $30, I think):
